How do I make a reservation?

Call us at (570)864-3189. We are happy to help you reserve a boarding stay and set up tours. You can also email us at RESERVE@PINECREEKKENNELS.COM. We check email daily but calling will receive a quicker response.

How much does it cost?

A typical boarding stay for one dog in a dorm room is $28 per calendar day. Double occupancy is $48, triple is $60. Our private flats are $50 per calendar day for single occupancy and $75 for double. Stays in the homestead are also $50 per calendar day for single occupancy, $75 for double and $100 for triple occupancy. For multiple dogs, they must be able to eat well in the same vicinity. We offer more amenities for an additional fee. A typical house stay for cats is $20 per calendar day.

When can I drop off or pick up my pet(s)?

Drop off and pick up times are available by appointment during the following times:

Monday through Saturday: 8 am — 2 pm or 4 pm — 6:30 pm

Sunday: 10 am — 2 pm or 4 pm — 6 pm

What about holidays?

Holiday hours are 10 am — 12 noon or 4 pm — 6pm

These hours apply to the following holidays: New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, President’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day

Christmas Eve hours: 9 am — 12 noon

Closed for drop of and pick up on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas

What do I need to bring along with my dog or cat?

Along with their food items and a copy of their vaccinations (and medications if any), you are welcome to bring along any toys, bones, blankets, and bedding items. We like to make them as comfortable as possible with things that remind them of home!

What vaccinations does my dog or cat need to have?

Required: RABIES (by state law). Please bring along (or send ahead) proof of up to date vaccinations on your veterinarian’s letterhead.

Distemper and Parvo. Puppy protocol and every three years thereafter on a case to case basis. In lieu of a standard vaccine schedule we accept a current wellness exam results or titer tests. Please refer to our “Vaccination Policy” page for full information.

Does my dog get to go outside? How often?

Yes, of course! We have three fenced in yards that we use for our daily outings. They go out 4x/day on a rotational basis. Additional outings are offered in the amenities section.

Dogs staying in the homestead have access to a 4th fenced yard for their daily outings.

Will my dog be interacting with other dogs?

No, not in the same space at least. The dogs can see/hear/smell each other in house, but they are never put in the same room or yard with anyone else for safety reasons.

Does my cat get special attention?

Yes of course! Cats get one on one attention with the freedom to explore the entire room at least twice each day.

Is there someone always on premises?

Yes! We are here working 6:30 AM until around 9:30-10 PM. Our awesome owners live next door, so they are on property at night. One of our staff members lives in the original “homestead” on the other side of the kennel from the owners and is also on property at night.

Will my dog or cat be kept in a cage/crate for the duration of their stay?

No! Dogs have the options of dorm rooms, furnished flats, cottages or staying at the homestead.
Cats will either sleep in a three tier movable cat enclosure or be allowed to have their own room, based on the individual

How often do they get fed?

Our typical schedule includes 2 feedings, breakfast and dinner. If your pet gets additional food time at home, such as lunch or a midday snack, we add those to their schedule here!

If my pet has a medical or physical issue, would you still board them?

For the most part, yes! These are the types of things we love to have a conversation about with you. We try to accommodate all dogs, no matter what age/size/health/ability, so please give us a call and we can discuss it!

What happens if my pet gets sick or hurt while I’m away?

If it is an emergency, we take them to the nearest veterinary hospital ASAP. We contact you and proceed how you wish. If we are unable to reach you, we contact your emergency contact that we have on file.

Where are you located?

Below Red Rock Mountain in Benton, 2 miles off of SR 118 close to Ricketts Glen State Park, Falls Trail Parking Area (Luzerne County, Pennsylvania). GPS can take you several miles out of your way. Please call at (570)864-3189 and ask for directions. We recommend using Google Maps.

Can I call and check on my pet(s)?

Yes, of course! However please note, we spend a lot of time with our temporary pets and don’t always get to the phone right away. Be prepared to leave a message or try several times to reach us if necessary. All calls will be returned in a timely manner.

Do you offer grooming services?

Yes for dogs only. Grooming services are available to all dogs, whether they board or not. Please see grooming page for details.

Do you do training?

No, we do not do professional training here. When your dog comes to stay with us, we practice and encourage good manners, behavior, and patience.

Is there anything special or fun my pet can do while they are there?

Yes! You can choose from a variety of activities to suit your pet’s personality. An active pet? Try Nature Walks or Rip N Tear play for dogs, Lure play for cats. Attention sponge? Spoil me’s, Tuck In’s and story time provide extra one-on-one time.

What if my pet is a picky eater or won’t eat?

You bring along your own dog’s food so he or she won’t have to eating something unfamiliar to them. This helps the dogs maintain their appetites. If your pet still won’t eat let us know if we can tempt them with something like gourmet meals or tuna.

What if my pets fight over food items/toys but I want them to get what they get at home?

We can separate your dogs during feeding times.
