What vaccinations does my dog or cat need to have?

Required: RABIES (by state law). Please bring along (or send ahead) proof of up to date vaccinations on your veterinarian’s letterhead.

Distemper and Parvo. Puppy protocol and every three years thereafter on a case to case basis. In lieu of a standard vaccine schedule we accept a current wellness exam results or titer tests. Please refer to our “Vaccination Policy” page for full information.

Do you board cats or other small animals?

Yes, we offer boarding for your feline family members. A typical house stay for a single cat is $22 per calendar day. For 2 cats it is $38 a day. Boarding for 3 cats is $50 a calendar day.

Cats are given time to run and play around the room where the condos are located. There is also a cat tree for them to climb and play on for exercise.

Cats are fed twice a day and have constant access to water.

What do you need to bring for your cat?

  • Preferred type of food and treats—along with directions on amounts of food to be given
  • Toys to help entertain your cat
  • A small blanket/sheet or something similar that smells like “home” for them
  • Necessary medications and a way to administer the meds (for example: hiding pill in wet food)

For their safety, please bring your cat(s) in an appropriate carrier. We do not want them to get scared (and try to run off) by being in a new place with new sights, sounds, and smells.

We can also board small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs.

Does my dog get to go outside? How often?

Yes, of course! We have three fenced in yards that we use for our daily outings. They go out 4x/day on a rotational basis. Additional outings are offered in the amenities section.

Dogs staying in the homestead have access to a 4th fenced yard for their daily outings.

Will my dog be interacting with other dogs?

No, not in the same space at least. The dogs can see/hear/smell each other in house, but they are never put in the same room or yard with anyone else for safety reasons.

Does my cat get special attention?

Yes of course! Cats get one on one attention with the freedom to explore the entire room at least twice each day.

Is there someone always on premises?

Yes! We are here working 6:30 AM until around 9:30-10 PM. Our awesome owners live next door, so they are on property at night. One of our staff members lives in the original “homestead” on the other side of the kennel from the owners and is also on property at night.

Will my dog or cat be kept in a cage/crate for the duration of their stay?

No! Dogs have the options of dorm rooms, furnished flats, cottages or staying at the homestead.
Cats will either sleep in a three tier movable cat enclosure or be allowed to have their own room, based on the individual

How often do they get fed?

Our typical schedule includes 2 feedings, breakfast and dinner. If your pet gets additional food time at home, such as lunch or a midday snack, we add those to their schedule here!

If my pet has a medical or physical issue, would you still board them?

For the most part, yes! These are the types of things we love to have a conversation about with you. We try to accommodate all dogs, no matter what age/size/health/ability, so please give us a call and we can discuss it!

What happens if my pet gets sick or hurt while I’m away?

If it is an emergency, we take them to the nearest veterinary hospital ASAP. We contact you and proceed how you wish. If we are unable to reach you, we contact your emergency contact that we have on file.

Can I call and check on my pet(s)?

Yes, of course! However please note, we spend a lot of time with our temporary pets and don’t always get to the phone right away. Be prepared to leave a message or try several times to reach us if necessary. All calls will be returned in a timely manner.

What if my pet is a picky eater or won’t eat?

You bring along your own dog’s food so he or she won’t have to eating something unfamiliar to them. This helps the dogs maintain their appetites. If your pet still won’t eat let us know if we can tempt them with something like gourmet meals or tuna.
